Michael O’Dwyer – VP of Marketing and business Development

After graduating with an honours degree in Engineering from Trinity College Dublin in 1979 he joined Telecom Eireann where he worked as executive engineer in the CPE approvals laboratory. Michael joined Lake initially in ’81 as an account manager with responsibility for sales into Telecom Eireann. 1985 Michael Joined Northern Telecom (Now Nortel) and was responsible for the introduction of the Meridian PBX into Ireland. He was appointed to the board of Nortel Networks Irl in 1989, as Sales & Marketing Director.

Michael rejoined in Lake in 1992 as Sales & Marketing Director shortly after the MBO with responsibility for growing the sales and customer base. He is now responsible for new channel wins & product direction.

Michael Tope – VP of Operations

Michael has worked in the electronics industry for 24 years. Michael started his career as a design technician before moving to the quality discipline in 1981. Michael joined Lake as quality supervisor in 1982 and after achieving BS5750 approval in 1983 was promoted to quality manager. Michael continued in this position until 1996 when was appointed quality assurance director.

Throughout this period Michael played a significant role in developing the organisation’s capability, leading or participating in programmes such as the introduction of TQM and outsourced manufacturing. He was also involved in several platform development projects. In 1998 Michael was appointed VP of operations and since his appointment he has significantly improved Lake’s product contribution and improved its supply processes.

Ciaran Kelly – VP of Sales

Ciaran has worked in the telecommunications industry for 20 years. He began his career with GPT in Ireland as account manager and subsequently spent 12 years with Cable and Wireless where he held senior positions with C&W companies in Europe and Asia. In 1994 Ciaran (then European Sales Manager for C&W) opened seven European sales offices, staffed and managed them up to 1996. From 1996 to 1999 Ciaran held the position of Director of Sales IDC (C&W Company) in Japan. This position necessitated the relocation of his wife and family to Japan. On his return to Ireland in 1999, he joined Lake Communications as VP of Business Development for North America. In March 2002 Ciaran was appointed Sales Director of Lake Communications.
